Lighting Requirements
Indoors: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Gentle morning sun is tolerated, but avoid harsh afternoon exposure. Outdoors (mild climates): Best in filtered light or bright shade with protection from strong wind and intense summer sun.
Watering Regimen
Mounted Plants: Soak or thoroughly drench the root zone once the moss or mounting medium begins to dry. Allow airflow and partial drying between waterings. Potted or Basket-Grown Plants: Water when the medium becomes lightly dry but avoid prolonged wetness around the crown.
Temperature & Humidity
Thrives between 16C28C. Prefers moderate to high humidity with strong airflow. Protect from frost and cold, stagnant conditions.
Fertilizing
Feed monthly during spring and summer with a diluted liquid fertiliser. Apply lightly around the root zone or in soak water.
Pruning & Maintenance
Do not remove shield fronds as they protect the roots and store nutrients. Avoid rubbing the silvery coating on the fertile fronds, as these trichomes help regulate moisture and light.
